A journey to my passion

When I first realized I would be starting my journey to motherhood my story started like many other mothers and matriarchs before me. I held my belly that didn’t yet show the human I was growing and instantly felt a rush of bittersweet fear, love and the absolute unknown. To be honest these emotions seem to be here to stay throughout parenthood.

Instantly I dove into my love of reading and couldn’t put books down about pregnancy and childbirth, I fell in love with not only this little babe growing inside of me but with the world of birth. After taking every class my local hospital had to offer I came back with two very strong feelings. I had this fire that had been lit in my soul, I wanted to help mothers into their transition to motherhood.

The other feeling I had was of the true need for a shift in how the birthing community views what is considered a “family.” The “average family” 50 years ago differs significantly from what many families look like today. I went into motherhood as a single mother. I went into countless classes, read countless books that were addressed to mothers and fathers; husbands and wives. The immense feelings of being alone in those classes were overwhelming at times. My goal is to set forth in the birth world creating a safe space for all. Whether you are going into parenthood as a single parent, co parent, or partners you will find the support you need through Nest Birth Services. I gladly welcome with open arms ANY person no matter your gender, sexual orientation/identity, race, culture or religion. You are in a safe space and will be treated with that respect you deserve as you become a parent.

The conception of Nest Birth Services was truly brought to fruition at this time. I wanted to create a space that had more of a feeling to it than just a name. When you think of Nest Birth Services I want you to think of the comfort of a home, a welcoming feeling of love, strength and safety. I want to help you create that feeling as you bring your baby from the safe nest of your belly to the nest that is your home. Nest Birth Services represents all that I bring forth as your doula. I am here to Nurture you through your pregnancy, birth and beyond. I am here to Empower you to have the birth that you know is right for you. I am here to Support you through one of the biggest most beautiful changes of your life. I am here to Train you with evidence based information so you can make the best choices for you and your baby.

This story truly can not end without the mention of the single most important thing that led me to this world: my sweet Harper Rose, that little babe in my belly. Not only has this ray of light made me into a mother, but she has helped me find myself. She taught me a whole new meaning of love and its cultivated this love of birth and pregnancy that I am ready to share with the world. My darling girl although she was birthed by me, she birthed me into the person I am today.

With Love,
